    We are currently seeking a a battery engineer to join our small team designing advanced battery systems for electric powered aircraft. You would design and execute experiments to characterize cells, develop cell models, and develop cell manufacturing lines with cutting edge technologies. You would also manage collaborations with international cell manufacturing partners.

    Required:

          • BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemical Engineering, or a related field
          • At least 5 years of relevant work or research experience
          • Direct experience in cell design and material development
          • Fluent in Mandarin and English
          • 10% travel to international manufacturing facilities expected
          • Experience in battery cell R&D
          • Experience with high volume cell manufacturing processes and equipment
          • Extensive work experience and knowledge of lithium ion battery chemistries
          • Experience in vendor management
          • Experience in quality control, including demonstrated ability to problem solve cell issues
          • Demonstrated application of analysis, design, and testing to solve complex engineering problems
          • Excellent communication and documentation skills

    Desired:

          • Understanding of current state of the art cell production equipment

  • Electronics Technician

    We are currently seeking a technician with experience assembling, integrating, and testing electrical, electronic, and avionics systems. You have extensive PCB soldering experience, and will work on components such as flight computers, control systems, PCBs, power electronics, DC/DC converters, >100kW inverters, wire harnesses, test fixtures, analog electronics boards, etc. Additionally, you must be able to build, install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical assemblies using industry standard methods, while maintaining records and logs.



    Required:

          • Strong PCB soldering, cable assembly, and mechanical assembly skills
          • Strong rework experience in micro-soldering and desoldering small SMT component packages such as QFP, QFN, small SMT Resistors and Capacitors such as 0603, 0402 etc.
          • Five or more years experience as a technician assembling electromechanical mechanisms and/or power electronic assemblies
          • Working knowledge of basic electronics
          • Must be able to work from procedures and drawings with minimal guidance
          • Understanding and use of basic electronics tools (Oscilloscope, DMM, crimpers, basic shop equipment, etc)
          • Strong background in troubleshooting and repair of wiring and systems
          • Able to select and manage parts from a BOM, assemble boards and test
          • Good communication, problem solving and organizational skills
          • Working knowledge of basic computer applications

    Desired:

          • IPC-A-610 certification

    A partial list of things you will do includes:

          • Write code to run on onboard CPUs (from device drivers up to higher level flight code)
          • Write requirements, test specifications, and tests (unit tests through full integration tests)
          • Build out software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop simulation/test environments
          • Collect sensor data and train higher-level autonomy algorithms
          • Drive a variety of other tasks that arise from our certified software (DO-178C) development process, including helping to shape that process
          • Work with the guidance and control team to implement flight control algorithms

    We are currently looking for a Systems Safety Engineer. The goal of System Safety is to accurately assess risk to inform decision-making. In support of the airworthiness effort, you will work alongside design engineers across all disciplines (mechanical, electrical, structural, software, controls, systems, aerodynamics, flight test, manufacturing) and will identify hazards associated with the functions of the aircraft and support systems. You will utilize qualitative and quantitative risk assessment methods to determine the likelihood and severity of hazard. You will also flow down reliability and safety derived requirements to design engineering and flight test to appropriately mitigate risks.

    Required:

          • B.S. in Engineering, and at least two years of experience in systems engineering or certification
          • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
          • Familiarity with conducting Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Common Cause Analysis (CCA) or similar techniques
          • Familiarity with typical Reliability Engineering reports (e.g. Failure Modes Effects Analysis)
          • Familiarity with requirements management tools 

    Desired:

          • Prior experience applying MIL-STD-882E and/or SAE ARP 4761 System Safety Assessment techniques 
          • Previous design and/or flight test experience
          • Experience with an aircraft development program from conceptual design through certification
