    We are currently seeking DevOps gurus to join our software and avionics group, which builds our core fly-by-wire-systems. We are trying to build the world’s best, and most highly-automated software development environment. The goal is to let a small group of engineers quickly develop high-quality, well-tested software, for a variety of fly-by-wire avionics platforms.

    You will be experienced with some of the below, and want to learn about the others:

          • BS (MS/PhD desired) in CS or EE or equivalent, with 3+ years of relevant experience
          • Embedded software development (preferably with ARM processors)
          • C and C++, and some scripting language (Python, Go, etc.)
          • Electromechanical systems and sensors (servos, motors, shaft encoders)
          • Machine Learning / Deep Learning
          • Experience creating and using Hardware-in-the-loop simulations
          • Certified safety-critical software (e.g. DO178B/C, or equivalent in non-aviation fields like automotive, medical devices, etc.)
          • Highly automated software development processes and modern tools (git, JIRA, continuous integration, etc.)
          • Demonstrated ability to define and implement processes
          • Decision coverage and static analysis tools
          • Experience with or passionate about aviation

  • Electronics Technician

    We are currently seeking a technician with experience assembling, integrating, and testing electrical, electronic, and avionics systems. You have extensive PCB soldering experience, and will work on components such as flight computers, control systems, PCBs, power electronics, DC/DC converters, >100kW inverters, wire harnesses, test fixtures, analog electronics boards, etc. Additionally, you must be able to build, install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical assemblies using industry standard methods, while maintaining records and logs.



    Required:

          • Strong PCB soldering, cable assembly, and mechanical assembly skills
          • Strong rework experience in micro-soldering and desoldering small SMT component packages such as QFP, QFN, small SMT Resistors and Capacitors such as 0603, 0402 etc.
          • Five or more years experience as a technician assembling electromechanical mechanisms and/or power electronic assemblies
          • Working knowledge of basic electronics
          • Must be able to work from procedures and drawings with minimal guidance
          • Understanding and use of basic electronics tools (Oscilloscope, DMM, crimpers, basic shop equipment, etc)
          • Strong background in troubleshooting and repair of wiring and systems
          • Able to select and manage parts from a BOM, assemble boards and test
          • Good communication, problem solving and organizational skills
          • Working knowledge of basic computer applications

    Desired:

          • IPC-A-610 certification
          • J-STD-001 certification
          • Electronics Associate degree, military training or above
          • Experience with electromechanical systems and sensors (servos, motors, shaft encoders)
          • Experience with Altium Designer or equivalent schematic/drawing tools
          • Avionics experience

    We are currently seeking software engineers to join our software and avionics group, which builds the core fly-by-wire-system that controls our aircraft.

    A partial list of things you will do includes:

          • Write code to run on onboard CPUs (from device drivers up to higher level flight code)
          • Write requirements, test specifications, and tests (unit tests through full integration tests)
          • Build out software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop simulation/test environments
          • Collect sensor data and train higher-level autonomy algorithms
          • Drive a variety of other tasks that arise from our certified software (DO-178C) development process, including helping to shape that process
          • Work with the guidance and control team to implement flight control algorithms

    We are seeking a hands-on manufacturing engineer to join our team developing electric-powered aircraft. You are efficient in the office and on the shop floor. Your core responsibilities will include implementation and management of manufacturing execution systems, process development and improvement, design and development of manufacturing tooling and equipment, and assistance in DFM processes for improved quality and costs. Your additional subtasks will include part-sourcing, and hands-on assembly of parts. You will also participate in manufacturability assessments. You have extensive experience with a wide variety of assembly and manufacturing processes, automation of processes, cost analysis for outsourcing of processes, and paperless workflow systems.

    Responsibilities:

          • Work with technicians and design engineers to develop manufacturing processes, tooling, procedures, quality control points, inspection plans, etc.
          • Efficiently incorporate design changes into manufacturing plans and procedures
          • Improve manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment
          • Purchase and implement new manufacturing equipment
          • Assist with make-vs-buy analysis
          • Assist with implementation and management of PLM, MES and ERP systems
          • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services

    Required:

          • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or similar
          • 5 years of experience as a manufacturing engineer in a production environment, preferably in a high-volume operation and/or aerospace
          • Comfortable creating new solutions to problems, as opposed to, applying tried methods
          • Familiarity with a wide variety of electronic and electromechanical technologies
          • Experience working with other engineers to improve the manufacturability of a product (Design for Manufacturing) while controlling cost and weight
          • Proficient in the fundamentals of industrial engineering, including capacity models, technical writing, time studies, and labor cost forecasting

    Desired:

          • Six Sigma or LEAN manufacturing experience/certification
          • Experience working with PLM and MES
          • Experience using Teamcenter MPP

          • Architect and implement our core C++ application to perform hardware-in-the-loop testing of flight critical software.
          • Design and implement a full software-in-the-loop simulation of our aircraft and its systems and sensors.
          • Work closely with the development team to gather requirements and build a tool that can generate hundreds of hours of simulated test data each week.
          • Write unit tests as you go to ensure maximum reliability.
          • Work on qualifying the tool and other related tasks, alongside our certification (DO-178C/DO-254) team.

    You will be experienced with some of the below, and interested in learning others:

          • BS/MS/PhD in CS or EE or equivalent, with 3+ years of relevant experience
          • C, C++11, Python, other scripting languages
          • Data serialization formats such as protobuf
