    We are seeking an Aerodynamics Engineer to support design, development, and testing of a small aircraft. The position involves generating aerodynamic analysis at various levels of fidelity, from vortex lattice methods to Navier-Stokes solutions, fitting models to those results and comparing them with flight test data. The aerodynamics group is responsible for supporting airframe design, propeller design, performance and stability analysis, handling qualities analysis and flight testing.

    Required

          • B.S. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent degree) with 5 or more years of academic or industry experience.

    Desired

          • Experience with aerodynamic database development
          • Experience with flight testing and corresponding data post-processing
          • Experience with potential flow methods
          • Experience with CFD analysis and gridding
          • Familiar with airplane dynamics and airplane performance analysis
          • Familiar with physics of airplane propellers and helicopter rotors
          • Experience with FAA regulations and certification.

You will work closely with engineers to install systems and troubleshoot issues. You're a self-starter, detail-oriented, and work well both independently, and in groups.

    Required:

          • Minimum 3 years industry experience
          • Ability to work closely with engineers during prototype integration and testing
          • Wire harness fabrication and repair
          • Familiarity with aerospace wiring harness tools/equipment and best practices
          • Ability to read and interpret harness drawings for harness fabrication and system troubleshooting
          • Experience routing and installing wiring harnesses on aircraft

    We are looking for a motivated, hands-on CNC machinist/programmer to help bring up a brand new 5-axis DMG Mori, including fixture and tooling selection, and software configuration. This person would be responsible for manufacturing parts in our prototype machine shop on a range of equipment.  The applicant should be comfortable in a fast-paced research and development environment and thrive under challenging projects and tight schedules.

    Responsibilities:

          • Study parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine manufacturing methods and sequences to manufacture products
          • Responsible for setting up, operating and programming CNC Mills and CNC Lathes as well as occasional manual machine operations 
          • Support metalwork projects from planning, programming, machining, and fabrication through assembly and test
          • Machine precision fixtures to support part manufacture and assembly
          • Set up machines to precise tolerances and operate various types of machines following established procedures

    Requirements:

          • High school diploma or equivalent
          • Experience with 5-axis programming and machining
          • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings with GD&T
          • At least 5 yrs of experience in set-up, operation, and programming of CNC Mills and Lathes
          • Familiarity and competence with Solidworks
          • Ability to machine/fabricate parts from hand sketches as well as CAD/drawings
          • Must have experience with complex, tight tolerance parts
          • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
          • Knowledge of operation of typical machine tools including lathes, mills, drill presses, bandsaws and other related equipment
          • Must have experience machining aerospace materials including aluminum alloys, titanium alloys, high strength stainless steels, etc.  
          • Experience with inspection techniques and measurement tools.
          • English fluency and good English communication skills
          • Strong computer skills (Mac OS and Windows)
          • Ability to lift tools and parts up to 50 lbs.
